An accidental expat blogger behind Frost Line Cove

Hello, I'm Sofia
I work as a project manager, I'm a parent, and I’m based abroad in Milan, Italy.
A while back I moved here with my family. What started as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Frost Line Cove
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Website Covers (And Fails To)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a meaningful change
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review site
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Milan or anywhere in Italy, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
